Book Beginnings on Fridays and The Friday 56: Her Name Was Rose by Claire Allan

Hello! Happy Friday. This is my third week, joining the blog memes called Friday 56 and Book Beginnings for Friday. I just recently finished reading a book called Her Name Was Rose by Claire Allan. It's an ebook and I read it on my iPhone. The first few sample pages made me buy the book and I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed reading it and I did not expect that twist in the end.

Anyway, here's the synopsis from Apple Books if you're interested.

Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda's Voice while Book Beginnings on Fridays is hosted by Rose City Reader.

Rules for The Friday 56:

·      Grab a book, any book.

·      Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.

·      Find any sentence that grab your attention.

·      Post it.

·      Add your (post URL) here.

·      It’s that simple.

Book Beginnings:

"It should have  been me. I should have been the one who was tossed in the air by the impact of a car that didn't stop. ' Like a ragdoll,' the papers said."

Page 56:

'Close the door,' he said as he took his seat behind his desk. He probably imagined he looked foreboding - but he didn't. He was too small, too fine a creature, too weedy to intimidate me. I wondered whether his mother still took his trousers up for him.
'Sit down, ' he said, and I did, straightening my skirt and taking a deep breath. I looked at him.
'So the dentist?' he said. I shrugged, unsure what he wanted me to say.
'You were there this morning?'

That's all for today! Have a great weekend!:)
